Fishing competitions to be held in October on the Costa Blanca

During the month of October various fishing competitions are held along the Costa Blanca organized by the different yacht clubs of each town.

Moraira Yacht Club has organized the 28th Edition of the trolling fishing trophy on the 10^th of October, a sports fishing trophy, the oldest of all those held in this club. Once again it will be sponsored by the Repsol firm and Barclays Bank. The victory of the previous edition went to LA BLONDY boat skippered by José Maria Carbonell. Following the competition we will inform you of this year’s winners.

The famous beer festival in Calpe to be held in October

The month of October is one of the months with the most fiestas in the town of Calpe, Calp, in the province of Alicante, there are fiestas practically all the month for all tastes.

The most exciting event and of course the one we recommend to everyone is the Oktoberfest Beer Festival organized by the Club Carnaval Calpe, the Beer Festival is the largest organized outside Germany, and each year Calpe receives around 20.000 visitors for the event. This year it will be celebrated from the 7^th to the 17^th of October. As soon as we have the full program of events we will inform you.

Themed routes through Benissa, Lliber and Murla

During the month of October those interested in getting to know the North Costa Blanca towns have the opportunity to do the themed walking routes that Benissa and Vall del Pop have organized to discover a little more about the towns of Benissa, Lliber and Murla through emblematic and historical figures, actors of the themed routes.

Sunday 3^rd of October 2010 Benissa Route: Moors on the coast!, leaving from the Spanish Pavillion of the 5th Multicultural Festival that will be installed in the Dolores Piera park in Benissa at 11:30 am.

Spanish classes for foreigners in Benitachell

Benitachell Town Hall opens the enrolment period for the Spanish courses for foreigners, those interested may register from the 15^th of September to the 15^th of October 2010, in the adult education centre. The courses start in October 2010 and continue until May 2011, a period of 8 months with two hours of lessons per week.
