San Juan Bonfires

The San Juan fiestas are well known by anyone who lives or just spends holidays in Costa Blanca, where towns like Jávea and Calpe celebrate with enthusiasm the San Juan Bonfires.

Valencia Formula 1 street circuit

The city of Valencia is preparing the last details to bring the Grand Prix of Europe of Formula 1 for the fourth consecutive year, to be held this time on the weekend of 24 to 26 June.

Once again, Valencia is pleased to be a national reference in organising not only cultural and traditional events,but also sporting ones, as the Tennis ATP Open 500 and the Global Champions Tour horse race.

El Altet airport, new terminal

The new terminal of the international airport of El Altet (Alicante) was inaugurated by the President of the Region of Valencia, Francesc Camps, accompanied by Development Minister José Blanco. Since its opening, the airport expansion will mean the creation of 1,270 jobs.

The airport is the main entry point for European tourists who vacation in tourist locations like Calpe and Jávea.

This new infrastructure is part of the LevantePlan by the Ministry of Development to conduct a complete modernization of the existing airport infrastructure.

View of Benitachell town centre, now an official tourist town

On Friday, February 5^th 2010, the Valencia government announced 21 new tourist towns in the Valencia region. In the province of Alicante, in addition to Poble Nou de Benitachell, the towns of Callosa de Segura, Elda, Monforte del Cid, Parcent, Pego and Xaló have also been declared tourist towns.

A tourist town is a town which throughout the year maintains an influx of overnight visitors that exceeds the number of people enrolled in the municipal residents’ census, where this activity is considered the base of its’ economy and where tourist accommodation capacity is greater than that of the primary residence homes.
