Youth Information Point at the Town Library
The Youth Council is launching the Youth Information Point in the town library in order to give personalized information to young people of Poble Nou de Benitachell about topics such as housing, employment, culture and education.
This initiative comes from the need to give personalized service and better care for the young residents of Poble Nou de Benitachell. The point will be located in the Town Library.
This initiative also aims to encourage social participation, cultural and sports among young people. Attention will be given by staff of the Library, along with the support of the Benitachell Town department of Social Services, Town Legal Service, the Local Development Agency and the Department of Education and Culture.
Ecological Crops in Poble Nou de Benitachell
The Town Hall of Poble Nou de Benitatxell is leading a pioneering project consisting of ecological crops of moscatel grapes. This project aims to set differentiate the local product, generate an incentive in the industry and at the same time, promote a socioeconomic alternative the crops that could make of the town a point of reference in the industry. The Technical University of Valencia will provide spscialised technical assistance through the investigation of autochtonal crops and the implatation of zero waste techniques.
Poble Nou de Benitatxell’s Town Hall is leading a “unique, wishful and innovative” ecological agriculture project.
Neighbourhood Meetings in Benitachell
The team of government representatives have started the series of neighborhood meetings to be held together with the residents of the neighborhoods making up Poble Nou de Benitachell. Until April 18, the Mayor and Town Councillors will meet residents from the 43 town neighborhoods. In the first meeting, the Mayor, Josep Femenia, presented the Residents Council project. This Council would be a consultative body but, above all, “a tool for all residents to take active part in the town life and to create a real bond”.
“Paisajes El Poble Nou de Benitatxell” Photography Contest
The Culture Council of Poble Nou de Benitatxell‘s Town Hall calls the I “Paisajes de El Poble Nou de Benitatxell: pasado, presente y futuro” (Poble Nou de Benitachell landscapes: past, present and future) photo contest: The contest aims to highlight the values of the landscapes in any of its spheres: nature, social aspects, culture, etc.
Participation is open to any person 18 or over, regardless of if it is an amateur or professional. Old as well as new photos are accepted.
The Council will give three prizes, for €200, €100 and €50 to the three first finalists. The jury will take into account the originality, creativity and quality of the photos.

Future Residents Council for Poble Nou de Benitatxell
About 80 people have attended 2 informative meetings to introduce them to the Future Residents Council for Poble Nou de Benitatxell. The Mayor, Josep Femenia, was in charge of explaining the willingness of the governing parties (BLOC and CCD) to create a new consultative body with residents’ representation, incorporating every neighbourhood in town.
The first meetings held on this regard on 27 and 28 February served as an introduction, where the Mayor explained the three grounds for this new body: “first, improve the communication between the town hall and the residents; second, to promote the participation of the residents in the Council and as a result, in the town hall; third and last, detecting needs of the residents and integrating them into the town life.” Likewise, Femenia declared that the council “will also be a tool to improve services, in and out of town, to better know the needs about their functioning and space for improvement.”
